Korean Lessons, Matched to What You Actually Want

Not a course you have to fit into. Tell us what you want to be able to do — hold a conversation, handle the situations that come up here, or pass TOPIK — and we match you with a teacher. All lessons run online by video call — Zoom, KakaoTalk, Teams, whatever you already use. In Seoul? Ask about in-person.

Two teachers, introduced below — one from the corporate world, one a career teacher.

Free 10-minute trial lesson. Tell us your level and your goal.

What people actually ask for

Three requests cover almost everyone. Say which one sounds like you and we take it from there.

🗨️ Everyday conversation

The most common request. You know words and still freeze at the counter. Lessons built on speaking, with someone whose job is to tell you what you actually sounded like — including when your politeness level was slightly off.

🧾 Situational Korean

The specific things: the pharmacy, the delivery driver, the building office, a landlord, an appointment. Rehearse the exchange before you have to do it for real.

📄 TOPIK preparation

For university, a visa points table or an employer. Past papers under a clock, and the writing section marked by a human — the part self-study cannot cover.

Complete beginner, including reading Hangul from zero, is fine. So is "I can read but I never speak." Tell us where you are and we will match rather than sell you a level.

The teachers

Two teachers, deliberately different. Tell us what you are after and we will point you at the one who fits — or take the free trial with each and compare.

Rim

Corporate background · Workplace Korean · Drama Korean

Rim came to teaching from the working world — years inside a major Korean conglomerate, and then at a foreign-owned company here. That is an unusual pairing, and it means Rim has actually sat on both sides of the culture gap you are trying to cross.

Best fit for: workplace Korean — email, meetings, the register people really use in a Korean office — and anyone who wants to understand how things are said, not just what the words mean.

Also a committed K-drama watcher, and happy to teach off them. Drama Korean is real Korean; it is just faster and full of slang, which is exactly why it is worth unpacking with someone.

Has taught a wide range of students.

Elli

10+ years teaching · Former primary school teacher · Art & psychology

📅 Taking students from September 2026 — ask now to hold a slot.

Elli has taught for over ten years, starting out as a primary school teacher. She went on to teach maths and art at academies in Mokdong, one of Seoul's most demanding school districts — which is a fair test of whether someone can actually teach.

She is trained in art psychology counselling, has taken first place at art competitions across Seoul, Gyeonggi and Incheon, and has been invited to give guest lectures.

Best fit for: complete beginners, younger learners, and anyone who has tried to learn Korean before and bounced off it. Teaching children for a decade is very good training for explaining something patiently, twice, in a different way.

Both teach in English as needed, and both offer the free 10-minute trial. If you are not sure which, say what you want to be able to do and we will suggest one.

How it works

  1. Message us on WhatsApp with your level, your goal, and roughly when you are free.
  2. We come back with options — teacher, schedule and price.
  3. Take the free 10-minute trial and see whether the teacher suits you.
  4. Book lessons as you go. Scheduling and any Korean-language admin stay with us.

Lessons run over whichever video app you already use — Zoom, KakaoTalk video call, Microsoft Teams, or another if you prefer. Nothing to install that you do not already have, and no account to create with us. If you are in Seoul and would rather sit across a table, say so when you message.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to be in Korea?

No. All lessons run online by video call, so your country and time zone do not matter. If you are in Seoul, in-person lessons can also be arranged.

Which app do lessons use?

Whichever suits you — Zoom, KakaoTalk video call, Microsoft Teams, or another you already have. We will agree it with you before the first lesson, and you do not need an account with us.

I am a complete beginner. Is that a problem?

No. Tell us you are starting from zero — including not reading Hangul yet — and we match you with a teacher who works with beginners.

Can I learn conversation instead of studying for an exam?

Yes, and it is the more common request. Conversation, situational Korean and speaking practice are all normal things to ask for.

Are the lessons in English?

Arrangements and scheduling are handled with you in English. How much English is used inside the lesson depends on your level and what you ask for.

Will I pass TOPIK if I take these lessons?

We will not promise you a test result, and you should be wary of anyone who does. What a teacher can do is mark the writing you cannot mark yourself and drill you against past papers.

Who actually teaches the lesson?

A Korean teacher. We make the introduction and handle the arrangement; the teaching is delivered by the teacher.
